This quiet area is filled with watering holes of clean water that freeze over during the winter. Some of the smaller, more isolated ponds are filled with salt water. Sometimes birds gather around the edges to catch the fish swimming below the surface.

A forest that is usually covered in snow, the trees here have needles instead of leaves that never fall. Small animals make their homes in the small hills that dot this landscape and often leave tracks in the snow for hunters.

Yeros Flats
In the high north where the snow blankets the ground most of the year, there is a flat expanse of land where only the most hardened soul can survive. For three seasons, the snow is thick and the winds blister, driving large prey away though there is enough small critters to sustain an army or wolves. During the summer months, large, hoved beasts graze here and have their young.
