The usual swagger that had Hush’s hips teasingly swaying was absent from his walk today, his steps more slow and absent. His large ebon ears fell into his face yet the handsome brute did nothing to blow them away, allowing the dark blue tassels on the end to tickle his nose. His usually charming smile was dismal and his glowing candle-light eyes dimmed in contemplation. And what would have the usually charismatic male so deep in thought? His precarious future; something dear to him put in danger under unfortunate circumstance.
Blight LaReign…Hush allowed the name to roll around in his mind. He knew not why the male had stepped down from his post only that he had and now his and Hush’s deal was terminated. And that worried the sleekly feminine brute. Where did he now rest in Iatia’s ranks? Such uncertainty threw him off balance, an uncommon occurrence that Hush immediately knew he distinctly loathed. Was he still Beta? Or had he fallen back into the position of loner? Eggshells were scattered about his feet and Hush had to walk this path on delicately placed paws lest he crack them all to ruins.
Another name rolled across the brujo’s mind, Zelia. The new alphess and a wolf Hush knew little to nothing about. Had she known of his and Blights deal? Or did she not even notice his presence during Blight’s short-lived reign? More unanswerable questions that only further darkened the graceful lupos mood. He only knew she was referred to as a gypsy, and even with that information he knew not the wolf behind the name. It would have been preferred to gather knowledge on this essa before he approached her but there was no time for such tedious work; he had to meet with her now and discuss a new deal.
Hush paused as a soft bubbling reached his ears and he flipped his auds out of his face, wrinkling his nose in indignity. Cursed ears. The low cascading song tickled his ears once more and Hush creeped forward before smiling gently. A brook lay before him, winding a little crystalline path through the dense forest. Lovely. Here, he decided, was where he would meet his new alphess and, hopefully, strike a crafty bargain.
His lungs drew in air and the small pixie-like wolf released his howl, a charming cadence that held a sharp haunting edge to it that clearly spoke one word. Necromancer. His tune was short and to the point, no use drawing out his call like an idiot and winding himself like some fools choose to. With his call taken care of Hush tenderly sat himself near the lip of the bubbling brook and awaited Zelia, a polite smile on his lips.

(Zelia's actually been in Iatia for a while. Asindri gave her over to them XD So if they've met at pack meets or w/e that's fine. She loves keeping wolves happy.) Zelia was confident in herself. She'd just successfully and rightfully ordered all of her subjects around. She could feel tension as those already ranked were wanting to keep their ranks and those that were most familiar with her wanted to take over some already claimed ranks. It was nerve wrecking as she didn't know if Hush was still wanting to keep his rank as beta or take over. He was gone when Blight had stepped down and now even though it was unanimous that she take the position, rightfully it would have been him to take over the lands. She'd have to talk with him soon see if he was going to respect her leadership or try to challenge her for the rank. If it was a challenge he wanted . . . .
Before she could finish her thoughts, she heard the haunting howl of the very wolf she was thinking of. A shiver went down her spine and her heart thundered for a minute. She had been pacing in her den when the howl was sounded. She stopped. Her companion had been watching her from his perch on a rock. Zelia looked at him, while she was not really ready for this she had no choice but to answer the call. With a woof Squirt happily circled her head before flying off to be the first to see where Hush had decided to set up the meeting. Zelia padded after the quail. She took in a breath before calming herself down. It wasn't as much fear as it was she just didn't feel like a confrontation on top of everything else she was having to get used to. The forest was hers now, every rock and tree. Hopefully Hush would much rather stay beta and be her right hand wolf.
The small female caught his scent and the bubbling brook. Sighing she bravely walked through the undergrowth to the pretty spot. No matter what any wolf said about her and her pack or what rumors she concocted, the territory itself was a marvel to behold. There was the small pixie wolf himself with a polite smile. She dipped her head in greeting, remembering at pack meetings when she had to do so. Shaking her head she lifted her head in to the alpha position and smiled politely back. Zelia didn't know what to think at the moment all she knew is that she better say something to get the conversation going, knowing full well she would not be able to avoid it any longer.
"Hello Hush, you called for me?"

Hush patiently waited for Zelia, fluffy plume tucked around his paws as he watched the bubbling brook wind through the thickly furnished woods. He knew that, as alphess, she had a lot on her plate and the pixie-like male had no intention of rushing her or seeming to demanding. He was a wolf that believed highly in manners and respected those that had equal respect for etiquette and such. He was content to rest his body at the peaceful stream and let it lull him into a slight stupor, daydreams and random thoughts floating in his mind.
A single obsidian stone that rested on the small streams bed caught the brujos interest and he smiled softly to himself. That rock was him. It stayed in its place within the stream whilst causing little to no disturbance. The water effortlessly slid over its smooth surface and continued on its way but the single lacquered stone resided firmly rooted within that single place. Hush, too, only wished to rest in the home he had carved out for himself, his own little niche in life. He had no wish to disturb the natural flow of the Iatia pack by becoming their alpha or anything of the sorts. He understood, and accepted, the packs singular choice as Zelia for their alphess. Who was he, a mere new comer into this pack, to take over like an accursed tyrant and demand power? Respect such as that was earned, not taken by force and violence.
The male, so deep in contemplation, had failed to realize said alphess had arrived, her voice awakening him and with a slight jolt. To his humiliation his large ebon ears fell into his face, snuffing out his candlelit eyes behind their dark fluff. How degrading. He mustered up his pride and flippantly flung them from his vision, a charming, if slightly embarrassed, grin on his face. He stood quickly and elegantly, head dipped in respect.
“Zelia, a pleasure to see you fitting so well into your new role as alphess.” His voice, like the rest of him, was very light and soft, a lilting hum more suited for a cooing lullaby than a deadly necromancer. Proper greetings aside and such the petite ebon wolf felt his usually pleasant features tug down into a small frown. Not one for beating around the bush he went straight to the point, glowing ivory eyes fixing upon Zelia’s own blues. “How do you feel of my and Blights previous deal?” He truly was curious as to what the femme thought of the sly bargain he and Blight had previously worked out, some considered it blasphemous to have a wolf in such a high position when it seemed he had done little to prove himself worthy.
Hush glanced at the obsidian stone in the stream and smiled fondly at his little metaphorical piece of life before turning back to Zelia. “Is consideration for another deal such as the previous open to discussion, or has an arrangement with another already been dealt?” The ebon brujo smiled respectfully. “I have no concern for any position other than my fragile in standing current role, as such no need must be placed upon a hungering for something more. I am fully supporting of your current ruling of the Iatia pack, as are most of the wolves within.” Hush gave his fur a light shake before setting himself down once more, a regretful grimace pulling at the corners of his maw. “All I’m interested in discussing is this I’m afraid. I much rather would have liked to call upon you just for an amiable conversation but thus is life and its responsibilities.”
