The cold waters of Beld Pond began to ripple as the winds started to pick up. Aura’s fur rippled in the chilly winds as she glared at a patch of snow, trying to hear as much as she could. She could hear thumping under the snow as as her ears twitched from one location to the other, pinpointing the location of her prey. It was silent otherwise in the large expanse of snow covered ground. All of a sudden, she used her muscles to jump in the air and land head first in the snow. ‘Uh…I got it this time!’ she thought as she clamped her teeth on the now dead rabbit. It wasn’t that big, but it could keep her from going hungry for a while. Aura got her face out of the snow, holding her dinner in her blood stained teeth, and walked to the stream to eat.

A once plush tail trailed wearily behind , and now bowed under the weight of snow crystals,tiny droplets beading through its sable strands like stars in the night sky. Years of travel had made her realized the true pleasures of snow though, and she wasn't one to complain. Though she had been born a nomad in the desert, there was something to the crispness in the air, and the methodic protest of crunching snow underfoot that made her come back, and the emptiness was exhilarating.
To look ahead and see nothing but miles of horizon would drive some mad, but she adored such places as this; free terrains where one could run for miles without stopping or slowing down. Her limber legs propelling her up the side of a large hill. Upon reaching the top she saw that the vantage point was incredible, an enthralling view that had her drawing to a stop, for before her spread the landscape and every form and shadow within it. She enjoyed the view for a moment only to continue on traveling, but was gripped to spy out some movement in the distance, halting in her steps and whirling around to focus on the form. It seemed as though the silhouette was trying to...bury their head in the snow? A traveler could only expect to encounter strange things, and she'd learn long ago not to assume that she knew exactly what others were doing, and never to guess their reasoning behind doing it.
She didn't bother reasoning through the situation, merely choosing to leave the higher ground and venture to see the event - and with the clearer view hopefully getting a clearer idea of their goal. She sprinted through the snow, following the faint scent that was now beginning to drift into her nose until reaching the stranger at the stream. Not knowing the other dames intentions, she kept the distance between the respectful and safe; the times they were living in where trying, and she did not wish to be mistaken for another wolf coming to steal her kill.
"Oh good, from the distance I couldn't tell if you were hunting or trying to beat yourself with the ground." Her gentle alto finally broke the stillness of the air, warm breath sending a halo of clouds puffing from her maw as she spoke. Seeing the slain rabbit had cleared everything, and slight grin split the black of her lips, a subtle kudos for the older wolfs resourcefulness. Gesturing towards the limp form, she began to speak again. "Was it the foxes that taught you that trick stranger? Or did you learn it from a swifter teacher, like hunger?" On her trips to the north, she had often seen the tiny vulpine forms springing skyward, and then plummeting through to punch the ice with their tiny paws. She only wondered if this smaller wolf was a resident, and if she had dwelt here long enough to learn the trick as well.
------------------------------------------------------------------ Hope you don't mind me tossing her in there, sorry it was so long and ick, they'll get better as I get a feel for her ^^;;

aura dipped the rabbit under the water as she cleaned her muzzle. she then picked up a faint sound of wolf prints advancing toward her as she picked up the rabbit and looked toward the stranger. she was mostly quiet as if she was mute and stared at the strange wolf as she Communed with Nature to see what kind of wolf she was listneing to. she looked up at the wolf and began to ask herself questions about this wolf. She silently offered the wolf some rabbit as she jumped in the cold waters. The auroras began to flow through the air as the water rippled when aura dove in. something below the surface began to glow in a brilliant silver tone as it swam through the water. It was sort of swift, but not fast. It then came up for air as it appears similar to the wolf that was previously there…
