Snakeyes sniffed the air. They was some prey nearby, a bird; it wasn't enough for the whole pack, but he was fond of bird meat. Ignoring Midori, who too was searching, he crept down and slowly, quietly sneak up on it. Snakeyes wasn't exactly "for the pack", but he was a good hunter which is why he was chosen to go with Midori. So the two rogues prowled through the forest, and that's were they were now.
The bird was within sight now, and the wind was in his favor. It had neither heard or smelled him, but a bird was always ready for takeoff; he'd learned that ages ago. A bitter memory stung him as he pictured Grey laughing at him when he just ran after it like he would any other animal. Back then, young Snakeyes only knew the strategy, "predator chases prey". His muscles rippled beneath his shoulders as he got closer and closer. His strategy was much different now. A warrior runs down his prey; a rogue must use finesse. Snakeyes was dangerously close now, and all it had to do was turn it's head to see him. He took a running start and pushed him self into the air with his legs, which smoothly went along with the familiar pouncing movement.
His jaws snapped down and fresh blood could be scented. "Hey Mid, get over here. I caught something!" No doubt she could smell it already.

The air that day was warm and gentle, an occasional light breeze rolling in from time to time. The breeze tugged playfully at the female's green fur. She smiled, embracing the wind as it caressed her lithe body. She opened her vivid red eyes, refocusing her attention on the task at hand - hunting.
It was Snakeyes who had been sent with her to hunt. Midori was fond of the young male. She had no siblings growing up, but that was how she thought of Snakeyes - a brother. At first, he seemed so angry and evil, but after getting to know him, she found his good side; which was full of pride and joy. All he needed was somebody to take the time to get to know him, and it was a matter of patience and love.
Midori's attention went to a small hare, hopping into her field of vision - a perfect candidate. She paid no mind to Snakeyes, who was focused on his own prey - a small bird. Slowly, slowly she crept towards the hare, using her small size to her advantage. The environment was on her side as well, as her green fur blended well with the grass.
"Yes, yes, just a little more..." Midori said to herself. The hare was too busy munching on some vegetation to notice the big red eyes sneaking up on it. A smile crept across her face as she moved in for the kill. Midori chuckled to herself, squinting her eyes. "That's it, that's it..." she chanted silently. Inching closer and closer, she could feel the adrenaline building up. Finally, she was ready. With a powerful push of her legs, she sprang upon the hare. Her teeth clamped down onto its neck. She could taste the blood on her tongue. As soon as she felt the life drain from its tiny body, she scanned the area for Snakeyes, the lifeless hare hanging from her bloodied maw.
"Hey Mid, get over here. I caught something!"
Midori smiled again as she heard his voice beckon to her. She approached him, dropping her kill before him so that he could examine it. "Me too," she panted. "You've got yourself a nice one, there. I just nabbed a hare over there". She could smell his kill from where she stood. It smelled delicious to her.

"Oh, cool.", he replied, his purposely showing that he didn't care. Snakeyes gave one his rare smiles, but it wasn't kindness or joy; nothing but greed lit up his face. He was kinder to Midori then anyone else, but he was still ol' impolite Snakeyes. He felt he need to be a pest build, but resisted eating the entire bird, or stealing her hare. He pulled off a large, meaty chunk from the bird and nudged to rest to his "sister", quickly eating his. Hunting trips were a great way to satisfy his neediness.
"Maybe if we keep looking, we could bring down a deer." Target the young and weak. That was the deer strategy. Two rogues weren't really a match to get a deer big enough to feed the whole pack, but a fawn could serve three wolves. That hare was about enough for two. Although he knew he shouldn't doubt Midori's strength, Snakeyes felt sure they could not catch a full-grown deer. That was enough for six, although each would get a relatively small portion.
What could they catch that good enough?
"Let's just catch a fawn or another rabbit and go." he yawned, clearly bored with the trip.
